Advanced Controls

Block Trackers and ads

You have the option to allow trackers and ads to block them, or block them even more aggressively

Upgrade connections to HTTPS

This feature in the Herond Browser, based on HTTPS Everywhere 172's rules, enhances connections by automatically upgrading them from HTTP to HTTPS. HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) employs SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to provide an additional layer of security. It achieves this by encrypting all communications between the website's server and the browser used to access it.

Block scripts

Script blocking is a protective mechanism that prevents a website from storing cookies, except essential ones, until it has obtained explicit consent from the user. This ensures that user consent is obtained before the website performs any cookie-related actions.

Block fingerprinting

Fingerprinting represents a more intrusive form of online tracking compared to traditional cookie-based tracking methods. It involves creating a unique profile of individuals based on their computer hardware, software, add-ons, and preferences. This profiling allows companies to track users over extended periods, persistently monitoring their activities even when browser storage is cleared or private browsing mode is used.

With Herond Shield, you have the option to control fingerprinting. You can choose to allow, block, or take a more aggressive approach to block fingerprinting, giving you greater control over your online privacy and reducing the ability of companies to track your digital footprint.

Block cross-site cookies

Cross-site tracking often operates by deploying a small file called a cookie within your browser. This file persists on your device until it is removed, enabling it to monitor your activities and transmit data back to the originating company.

Third-party cookies, also known as cross-domain cookies, are cookies that are accessed by one website but delivered by another. For instance, while you may be browsing one website, embedded code hosted on another website attempts to store cookies.

Herond Shield allows you to manage cross-site cookies and all cookies according to your preferences. You can choose to block these cookies entirely, allow them, or customize your settings based on your desired level of privacy and control.
